Laservision Academy Workplace Laser Safety Audit

Laservision Academy has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of laser safety. Our Certified Laser Safety Officers provide workplace safety audits for any type of organization that needs to be in compliance with OSHA ad ANSI. Knowlegeable OSHA inspectors will often refer to the ANSI Z136.1 Safe Use of Lasers standard when visiting an organization using lasers. The ANSI standard states "...periodically audit or survey by inspection for the presence and functionality of the laser safety features and control measures required for Class 3B and Class 4 laser or laser system in the laser facilities...". Laservision Academy will:

• Meet with your facility Laser Safety Officer (LSO) and Committee to review the current laser policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.
• Perform a laser hazard analysis and laser equipment safety features check.
• Review laser controlled areas for proper signage and entryway controls.
• Review/perform Nominal Hazard Zone (NHZ) calculations for each laser area.
• Review/perform Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) calculations for each laser.
• Review beam and non-beam control measures.
• Review Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Review laser safety training requirements for employees and the LSO.

Upon completion of the laser safety workplace audit Laservision Academy will provide a written detailed report outlining all areas of compliance and any areas that need improvement. Laservision Academy will make specific recommendations and assist in implementing any changes to ensure compliance with OSHA and ANSI.
